While studying filmmaking in Europe, Council became obsessed with electronic music. She fell in love with the rich traditions of hotspots Detroit, Berlin, and Chicago and has gone on to blend that with her
own pop sensibility.

‘One Hundred Nights’ is Council’s debut EP and is based on the idea of a night out, which reflects her cinematic vision and penchant for storytelling through music.

Opener 'Want To Go' is about good times with friends as much as it is about the desire to escape somewhere else. Her voice lends the tune a catchy, emotive hook while the disco-inspired house grooves bring warmth and soul.

The superb 'Get To It' combines punchy, heavy-hitting bass with the kind of floaty pads and synths that make you want to lose yourself on the dancefloor.

Last, the richly layered and melodic 'Mood High' evokes the driving energy of the dancefloor and the blissful feeling of laying back in the sun without a care in the world. It has tinges of acid and soulful Detroit techno that lend it a slick and futuristic mood.

‘One Hundred Nights’ is an accomplished EP that brims with musical vitality that makes it about much more than just the dancefloor.
